[accordion-item title="1) Prepare a Clean Workspace"]

As with all laboratory procedures, maintain strict cleanliness:

  • Wash hands and don sterile gloves and protective eyewear.
  • Disinfect the bench surface and arrange materials within easy reach.
  • Gather the required items:
    • Lyophilised peptide in a sealed glass vial
    • Sterile syringe and needle
    • Solvent (recommended: Bacteriostatic Water where appropriate)
    • Alcohol swabs

Good aseptic technique reduces the risk of contamination and variability in results.

[accordion-item title="2) Condition Peptide and Solvent"]

Allow both the peptide vial and solvent to reach room temperature. Cold fluids can slow dissolution and promote aggregation.

Remove the central disc of the crimp cap, then disinfect the rubber stopper with an alcohol swab. Clean the solvent vial stopper in the same way and let surfaces dry.

If required, confirm solvent compatibility based on peptide characteristics (sequence, length, hydrophobicity).

[accordion-item title="3) Add Solvent Carefully"]

Using a sterile syringe, withdraw the required volume of solvent. Insert the needle through the stopper and slowly deliver the solvent while holding the vial at roughly 45° so the liquid runs down the inner wall.

This technique minimises foaming and air bubble formation, supporting an even reconstitution. Gently swirl if needed; avoid vigorous shaking.

[accordion-item title="4) Storage and Stability"]

Lyophilised Powder

  • Short‑term: store at ≥ +4 °C.
  • Long‑term: store at −20 °C (or below) in a dry, dark environment.

Reconstituted Solutions

  • Aliquot into sterile microtubes to avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
  • Guidance: ~3+ weeks at +4 °C; ~3–4 months at −20 °C.
  • Inspect visually before use; discard if turbidity or precipitate is observed.

Stability may vary with sequence and concentration; verify conditions for your specific application.
